WETRAVEL HOSTING WOMEN+ IN TRAVEL WEBINAR ON REPRESENTATION IN THE INDUSTRY

WeTravel is hosting this month its second-annual Women+ in Travel webinar, hosting four women panelists to discuss representation in tourism during Women’s History Month

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Thurs., March 9, 2023- WeTravel–the all-in-one business management platform supporting booking and payments for thousands of multi-day travel businesses–is hosting on March 21, 2023, a free webinar, Women+ in Travel: Representation in the Industry, to promote the importance of better representation in the travel industry.
As its second-annual Women+ in Travel webinar hosted during Women’s History Month, this year’s one-hour webinar will host four influential travel professionals to discuss the importance of elevating and listening to women in your business and communities to drive equity in tourism.
“As a business with more than 50 percent of its employees identifying as women and a significant amount of women business owners using our platform, we know how important women are in every aspect of tourism’s success – from tour leaders leading exceptional trips to business owners  building incredible product to tech engineers developing business management platforms like WeTravel,” said Shayna Zand, WeTravel’s head of partnerships. “All year, through our Women+ in Travel Academy and other external and internal activities, we commit our resources to pushing for equity in tourism. This year, aligning with Women’s History Month’s theme of ‘more than equal opportunities’, we’re further creating resources–and calling on the expertise of the women we’re featuring in our Academy and in this webinar–to focus on how all of us can work together for an equitable industry – especially for underrepresented groups.”
In May 2022, WeTravel launched within its existing Academy its Women+ in Travel Academy: A free educational hub created by women with relevant, travel-specific resources to champion equitable practices in travel. To kick-off this year’s Women’s History Month, the business launched within its Women+ in Travel Academy a We Travel for Women+ campaign, sharing 31 stories, or an article per day, of women in travel–from tour leaders in Latin America to business owners in Africa to CEOs in America–who’ve bettered the industry.
As part of this campaign–and the business’s commitment to equity in tourism–the Women+ in Travel Webinar will host four women panelists on the important discussion of representation in travel. The webinar will be hosted by WeTravel, with these women panelists: Martinique Lewis, president of the Black Travel Alliance and diversity in travel consultant, Catarina Rivera, founder of Blindish Latina, Iris Serbanescu, founder of wmnsWORK, and Casey Hanisko, owner of Casey Hanisko Coaching + Consulting.
To register for the webinar, which will take place on March 21, 2023, at noon EST, visit here. All registrants will be provided with a recording after the webinar concludes and the opportunity to ask the panelists live questions.
“By joining the discussion, you’re committing to not only learning more from women about how to create better representation within your organization or communities, but you’re actively showing your allyship in equitable tourism,” said Zand.
