TRAVEL AGENCY OPENS STUNNING  NEW LOCATION
 IN PREMIER DOWNTOWN OFFICE BUILDING

LANSING, Mich., July 15, 2011 - Craig Corey Travel Service, Inc. dba Craig Corey Vacations, a full-service travel agency has just opened a new “Travel-Planning Studio/Vacation Store” inside the Atrium Office Center in downtown Lansing, Michigan.   The agency is celebrating its 20th year providing professional travel planning, and specializes in luxury cruises, tours, beach vacations, custom-tailored itineraries, and travel-related services, and is the only “full-service travel agency” in the City of Lansing.

The “Craig Corey Vacations Travel-Planning/Vacation Store” occupies a space on the street floor at the front entrance of The Atrium Office Center (formerly the Michigan Theater Arcade, circa 1922-1980) at 215 South Washington Square.  Conveniently located near downtown commerce and state government, the central location will provide customers with metered parking and street-front accessibility in response to the new model for selling travel.

The new office is smartly furnished, and accented with objets d’art from yesteryear creating a visual appeal that is “immediately noticeable upon entering the Atrium Office Center lobby,” says Craig Stevens Corey, owner and president of the company. “That’s exactly the effect we were striving for, in order to get people to walk in the door,” he says. The front window is flanked with a large collector’s display model of the ss FRANCE ocean liner which once stood in the lobby of the now defunct  French Line steamship company office in Chicago. A Kilimanjaro tapestry rug acts as a backdrop for the stylish furniture and travel prints, and one entire wall is anchored by uniform rows of stainless steel slots displaying the numerous free color travel brochures that the travel agency is touting. “I wanted to capture a bit of the look and feel of the amazing airline and steamship offices that used exist on Fifth Avenue in New York, Michigan Avenue in Chicago, or Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit for example, back in the day when people regularly frequented them.” You would just walk into those travel offices and you’d already feel like you were in a different world”, says Craig.

The “Craig Corey Vacations Travel-Planning Studio/Vacation Store” specializes in selling air, rail, luxury cruises, tours, beach vacations, safaris, Transatlantic crossings, and more, as well as travel-related services, offering a traditional one-stop shopping, brick and mortar concept, and bills itself as “destination specialists.”

The company was previously located in a warehouse loft-space in Lansing’s Stadium District from 1991 until 2002, until it moved to a “home-based” operation as a result of the downturn in travel that followed the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
