Dear Travel Advisor,
Following a distinguished career spanning nearly 27 years with the company, it is with heavy heart but warm wishes that we share with you the retirement of Barbie Groves, Vice President of Sales, Apple Leisure Group® Vacations (ALGV). We are indebted to her vision and commitment and we wish her a wonderful next chapter in her life.
Barbie's territory covered the Northeast, Southeast and our Host relationships for Apple Vacations, Travel Impressions, Funjet Vacations, Southwest Vacations, Blue Sky Tours and United Vacations. Effective September 12th Jim Tedesco will join Apple Leisure Group and resume leadership of these markets and brands as Vice President, Sales. Jim will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, as well as leading ALGV's sales organization through the next phase of our continuous growth.
Jim's proven leadership abilities and knowledge in sales brings great value to ALGV. Jim is an industry veteran with more than 13 years of experience as a successful leader in building and optimizing revenue-generating sales teams for GOGO Worldwide Vacations and GO Groups, the wholly-owned brands under Flight Centre Travel Group's umbrella. During that time, he held the positions of Director of Sales and Marketing for GOGO Worldwide Vacations, and for the past three years has been part of Blue-Roads Touring and Topdeck Travel, another division under Flight Centre Travel Group, as Vice President of Sales, responsible for International Markets.
Jim's focus on innovation, his knowledge and ability to drive success in travel agents business, with a wealth of experience and relationships, will be important to ALGV's success.
