Journeys Connect and Good Food Ireland launch new Culinary and Cultural tour program for 2022

 

Journeys Connect and Good Food Ireland have partnered to offer US visitors a series of Good Food Ireland tours, certified farm to fork food cultural tours of the island of Ireland. The Good Food Ireland tours series will connect international visitors with local people and immerse them in the culinary and cultural traditions of Ireland.

Journeys Connect is a privately owned US based wholesale tour operator offering group and specialty programs to destinations throughout Europe, Japan, Southern Africa, and South America. Good Food Ireland is the Trustmark for food and drink experiences on the island of Ireland.

The Good Food Ireland South guided tour is an eight-night Culinary and Cultural Experience that takes visitors on a unique adventure, viewing dramatic sceneries, meeting with local people and most importantly allowing them to get to know Ireland through the lens of food and drink. This small group tour is based on a minimum of 12 people and a maximum of 25 and is priced from $3,799 per person land.

The experience begins on the day of arrival with breakfast in Mulligan’s Pub in Sandymount, with dinner that evening in The Strawberry Tree Restaurant, BrookLodge. Traveling on to Waterford, guests will enjoy lunch in GIY HQ Café, then continue to Cork and 5-Star Hayfield Manor for dinner and overnight.

After an informative walking tour exploring the heritage town of Cobh, guests will enjoy lunch in the world-renowned Ballymaloe House, followed by a private tour of the Organic Farm and Gardens in Ballymaloe Cooking School. In West Cork, take part in a Smoked Irish Salmon Experience during a visit to the fascinating Ummera Smokehouse. From there guest will move onto the market town of Skibbereen and for lunch in The Church Restaurant.

While traveling the Ring of Kerry, guests will pause for lunch at The Smugglers Inn in the beautiful town of Waterville. The next day, guests will visit Cromane Oysters, a family operated oyster farm, before heading out to Dingle for a Fish’n Chips lunch in The Fish Box.

A highlight of the trip, a delicious local artisan picnic at the Cliffs of Moher, before traveling to Dublin and a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. And to wrap things up, guests will enjoy a special farewell dinner in Ely Wine Bar in the heart of Georgian Dublin.

Throughout the trip, guests will stay in luxury family owned and operated hotels, including the BrookLodge Hotel in County Wicklow, Hayfield Manor in Cork, The International Hotel in Killarney, Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House in Adare, and Brooks Hotel in Dublin. Two departures are on offer in 2022, May 6 and September 30 with plans to add a departure over Thanksgiving. Private group departures can be tailored year-round.
