*Fares are per person and include fuel surcharges and are valid for travel in economy class on South African Airways from New York (JFK) or Washington, D.C. (Dulles). Offer valid on the purchase of round-trip tickets only. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights. Departure taxes and Sept. 11th security fee of up to $204 per person are additional and payable at time of ticketing. Tickets must be paid for and issued at time of reservation. A $250.00 USD service charge will apply to flight/date changes in same booking class or upsell to the applicable through fare. South African Airways Vacations Now Operated by Destination Southern Africa

We are pleased to announce that South African Airways (SAA) in North America has concluded an agreement with Destination Southern Africa (DSA) of Tucson, AZ to operate SAA’s branded vacation program, South African Airways Vacations, effective December 15, 2010.

Destination Southern Africa, which was founded in 2001, offers an extensive portfolio of tour programs with a variety of hotel, game lodges and safari companies throughout Southern Africa. Most recently, DSA was one of three tour operators in the U.S. that was officially appointed by MATCH to develop and sell travel packages for soccer fans visiting South Africa for the FIFA 2010 World Cup. SAA’s close collaboration and the synergies that have developed with DSA over the years have proved to be mutually beneficial and led to this new partnership to operate SAA Vacations.

Over the next several weeks, DSA and SAA’s Sales & Marketing Departments in North America will conduct the transition process, which will appear seamless to our Travel Partners.

SAA Now Offers Quick Connect at New York (JFK)

South African Airways now offers “QUICK CONNECT” at New York’s JFK Airport for all inbound passengers that are connecting to another flight within three (3) hours of arrival. Passengers will be directed to specially dedicated, “QUICK CONNECT” lines in the Immigration Hall at Terminal 4 at New York (JFK) and will be given priority over all other passengers arriving into the U.S. On disembarkation, “QUICK CONNECT” cards will be distributed to those passengers in possession of an onward boarding card and making flight connections within three (3) hours of arrival. “QUICK CONNECT” is a new enhancement that offers our customers more convenient connections at JFK to our interline partners including; United Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Virgin America.

New Arrivals Lounge In Johannesburg

SAA’s new arrivals lounge at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is especially useful for those arriving in the country on business and for those transferring onto connecting flights. Food and beverage service, showers, a clothes-pressing service, an e-mail and Internet area and an enclosed smoker’s lounge make the new arrivals lounge a dream for business travelers.

Travel Industry Fares for INDABA 2011

As the proud national carrier of South Africa, South African Airways is, once again, offering special airfares for North American delegates attending Indaba in Durban, South Africa, May 7–10, 2011. Indaba, which is hosted by South African Tourism, showcases a wide variety of Southern Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international visitors and travel trade media from around the world. Indaba provides a wonderful opportunity to meet with some of Southern Africa’s top travel suppliers to learn how to better market and sell the unique products and destinations that are featured.

SAA’s special round–trip airfares for Indaba are just $599* for Economy Class or $4,999* for Premium Business Class from New York (JFK) or Washington, D.C. (Dulles) to Johannesburg or Durban. Special add–on fares for domestic and regional flights on SAA for pre/post tours are being offered, starting at just $60* each way. Travel must commence between May 1–6, 2011 and return travel must be completed by May 22, 2011.
