February was a month of forces majeures—unexpected and beyond our control—escalating quickly from snowstorms at home to cartel violence in Mexico to all-out war in the Middle East. As travel advisors scrambled to keep up, many also took a moment to rethink just how to respond, and how to protect themselves from the inevitable complaints and chargebacks that are bound to follow.
Looking for answers, we listened in to a webinar last week in which travel lawyer Tom Carpenter, a travel advisor himself, offered up his best advice.

Two full weeks after the partial government shutdown put the brakes on the Global Entry program, the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday renewed the popular option, effective 5 a.m.
