An American Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft was removed from service after maintenance crews discovered what appeared to be bullet holes in a flight control surface following its landing in Miami after a flight from Medellín, Colombia, authorities and industry sources said.
The incident came to light on February 23 after Flight AA924 touched down at Miami International Airport shortly after completing its return leg from José María Córdova International Airport.
