The 10 Best Things to Do in Northern Germany
Germany’s maritime north keeps a quiet radiance under the radar. Windswept dunes, meandering mud flats and reed cottages sweep across a coastal panorama that’s much less narrativized in Deutschland travel stories – neither pretzels nor Lederhosen in sight (though plenty of beer)…

The Black Girl's Guide To Travel: 5 Unexpected Places Where Black Women Can Actually Feel At Peace
I’ll admit it. I didn’t always think of the Catskills as a place for me. Living in New York for almost 20 years, I’d heard people talk about escaping to the mountains for cozy weekends and fall foliage, but I never pictured myself there. When I finally made the trip, I wasn’t sure what to…

Searching for Aliens on the Extraterrestrial Highway in Nevada
by Sue King
Sunday November 16, 2025

Area 51, situated in the remote Nevada desert, is a military base shrouded in secrecy and the subject of conspiracy theories. A US Air Force test facility, the facility is known for developing cutting-edge aircraft. It has, however, been its association with extraterrestrials that has really captured the public imagination, and stories of government cover-ups are rife.

Additionally, numerous people claim that UFOs have been spotted in the clear skies over the vast Nevada desert.

Whatever goes on at the base, it’s highly classified. Area 51 may not be your usual tourist…

Elon Musk called AI humanity’s “biggest existential threat.” There’s a lot of hyperbole going around, and that’s appropriate to a degree, but predicting the end of civilization takes hyperbole to the max.

Musk also said, “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy.” And he claims the human species would have a better chance of survival if we migrated to Mars. I don’t see Musk as a wise man.

I do, however, agree that the emergence of AI is enormously consequential, and that AI is more powerful than we can yet imagine, and that it should…
