It wasn’t only about big ships at the annual Seatrade show in Miami this month. Also on the agenda were lots of new ships rolling out in much smaller dimensions.

Even as it made a splash with the 6,000-passenger MSC World America, MSC Cruises said it is on course to add four ships to its luxury lifestyle brand, Explora Journeys. Holding less than 1,000 passengers each, EXPLORA III and EXPLORA IV will double its fleet from two to four ships by 2028. And to keep its passengers coming back, Explora will debut its first Explora Club loyalty program for repeat guests—and cross-honor loyalty status from all the other, more established, cruise brands on the seas.
