Visiting New York’s Island of the Dead
The first time I heard about Hart Island, I couldn’t believe it. There’s a 150-year-old mass grave on an island in the Bronx? And, until recently, it was totally off-limits to the public. To Get the Best Price, This Is When to Book Your Flight
As a travel editor, one of the questions I get asked the most when friends or family are booking flights is: If I wait, will the price go up or down? The answer depends on when you’re looking and booking. Airline tickets typically go on sale up to a year before the departure date, so…

The Heart Of AmaPrima: Sailing With An Unforgettable Crew
Note: For p rivacy reasons, photos of the crew cannot be included in this article with the exception of our cruise manager, Jasmina. Instead, I’ll try to bring their warmth and personalities to life through words.
When I stepped aboard the AmaPrima, it wasn’t just the ship’s polished floors, elegant public areas, or cozy cabins that stood out. It was the crew who set the tone from the very first moment. They greeted me with such warmth and sincerity, but that is what I have come to expect from AmaWaterways – a crew that doesn’t just do their jobs but makes you feel like part of a little…

Avoya Ups the Ante for Travel Advisors with $5K Sign-On Bonus, Increased Commissions and Cruise Booking Engine
by Cheryl Rosen Friday October 25, 2024
Even in an AI w orld, competition for really smart, knowledgeable and experienced travel advisors is stiffer than ever—not just among high-end customers but apparently among host agencies as well.
