When a travel supplier looks like it may be going out of business, it can be a stressful situation for travel agents and their clients. Considering recent events with Vantage Deluxe World Travel, it's important for travel agents to be prepared and know how to handle this situation.
While most agents will not have clients traveling with Vantage (they aggressively solicit direct bookings and dissuade customers from using an agent), we are usually called upon to try and help. Can we? The short answer is “no.” If the client booked directly, nothing can be done beyond empathizing and subtly reminding them why an agency booking makes sense.
