Why now is the perfect time to rediscover an old favourite across the Channel
I’m writing this on the train back from a short trip to Brittany via Paris, which I’ll be writing about in more detail in a couple of weeks. The weather throughout was a wonderful September mix of deep blue skies and long, cool but golden evenings. It’s my favourite time for both a city break and a beach holiday, but visiting coast and city in quick…

A shipwreck worth billions off the coast of Cartagena
It was on 8 June 1708 that Spanish galleon San José erupted into flames off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia. Here’s Why Planes Fly at 36,000 Feet
It’s a common situation for travelers. You fasten your seat belt, listen to the pre-flight safety demonstration (we hope), and prepare yourself for takeoff. After a few moments, the pilot comes on the overhead, “Ladies and gentlemen, we are now at our cruising altitude of 36,000 feet.” It’s time to kick back and wait for that refreshment cart to…

When it comes to fast train travel, the U.S. lags — badly
If there is a need for a high-velocity train anywhere in the world, the United States should be on top of the list. Do we have one? No. The railroads in the U.S. are antiquated. I rarely use a train as transportation, but the few times I do, I am so distraught that I imagine I’m on a train pulled by a steam locomotive. I recently took the train from Los…

Some Countries Require You to Have Travel Insurance, Others Aren’t Far Behind
Sometimes travel isn’t as simple as booking a ticket and off you go. And in some cases, you also need to think if the country you are heading to requires you to have travel insurance. “If a visa is required, there…

A K.I.S.S. for your clients
by John Frenaye Monday September 09, 2019
Finally, my you ngest is out of college! Employed! And living on her own! Go me! Last week, I was talking with a friend about today’s secondary education and how many tools kids have today that we never had growing up. We had libraries. They have the Internet. We had mystery meat. They have grass fed, farm-to-table, free range chicken on a brioche bun. After a few beers, we were having a good laugh and then we got into my biggest frustration with higher education. They make everything so difficult.
Specifically, I am talking about their websites. I had three kids go to three separate schools and all I wanted to do was pay the bills when they came due. Simple request right? I challenge you to…

Mistake #6: You Expect the Prospect to Do Too Much Work
This is Marketing Mistake #6 of 15.Let’s get this clear once and for all: It is your business. It is your life. It is your future. You have yours and I have mine. Others have theirs.
If you want to do or accomplish something (anything), it is entirely up to you. The ball is in your court. You are driving the bus. If you want to speak to me, it is up to you to call me and leave a message. It is not my responsibility to call you back. You wanted to talk to me, remember? It was your idea. You had a reason to contact me. You must keep calling until you accomplish your goal.
Too many sales professional “wanna-bes” feel that once they make…
