How Safe Is Your Airline?
Before Lion Air Flight 610 crashed near Jakarta this week, apparently killing all 189 passengers and crew onboard, the Indonesian airline had been banned from flying in European Union air space between 2007 and 2016. It and all Indonesian carriers had been banned from United States air…

Today in History

The War of the Worlds
On this date in 1938, alien creatures from Mars invaded the earth, wreaking widespread havoc. Wells novel of the same name, the format was that of a news…

by Joseph DeLoach
Tuesday October 16, 2018

San Carlos de Bariloche, otherwise known simply as Bariloche, is a medium-sized city at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Argentina. Though the sight of the Andes is enough to excite the traveler with trekking and skiing opportunities, Lago Nahuel Huapi and the national forest in the area around Bariloche add to that. That’s why this edition of 60-Second Geography is brought you by Aerolineas Argentinas, Argentina’s largest airline and flag carrier — they’ll get the traveler to this land as one of only four airlines that travel to…

The Temples of Vientiane with Lao Airlines
by Joseph DeLoach
Tuesday October 30, 2018

The capital and largest city of Laos, Vientiane is known for a laidback feel as the traveler wanders the streets and Buddhist temples. Thanks to Lao Airlines for sponsoring today’s Outpost article.

Vientiane is located on a bend of the prolific Mekong River, which forms the border it shares with Thailand. It is a smaller city with big charm, from its many temples to the thousands of statues of Buddha around the city. Monks…

Mike's Morning Missives

Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Today’s message is based on a true story. It contains an important reminder for all of you.

A particular industry conference was on my calendar for over a month. I knew as a professional speaker that good things result from my wandering trade show aisles. This alone serves as a walking example that “Marchev is alive and well.” I was not planning to attend this show as a conference speaker. I was a paid attendee. This was a few years ago and the conference was conducted by a large Association.

For those of you who know me, you can appreciate that one of my favorite reminders involves “visibility.” Getting out where the action is happens to be one of my favorite, dog-eared reminders. Hence, I was practicing…
