The Paradise Islands that Tourism Forgot
What’s the last thing you’d expect to find on a tiny archipelago 140 miles out in the Gulf of Guinea? A pair of Victorian traction engines? Turquoise sparrows? West Africa’s biggest swimming pool? Weirdly, you can find all of them on STP, or São Tomé and Príncipe…

Airfares have been Dropping, but Are they About to Jump Because of Higher Fuel Costs?
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics released data showing the average domestic airfare for the April-though-June period was $356, the lowest for that period since 2009. The decline came at a time when fuel costs were sinking and airlines were generating hefty revenue from passenger fees. But for the last four months, jet fuel costs have jumped 19%, a sign that airfares could rise in the near future, analysts said…

A whole lot of tips to help your email marketing beat the competition
by John Frenaye Monday October 23, 2017
Are you still s truggling with your email newsletter? Are you (gasp) not sending one out? As anyone who knows me knows, I am a strong believer in the power of email. Next to face-to-face it is the most powerful tool you have--even more-so than the telephone! Your website is like any store in your local mall. People can stop by, take a look, maybe buy, maybe not. You have very little control. With email, you are more like the trusted UPS driver that has the code to the front door so they can leave packages inside. Think about it. The drawbacks to disorganization are all too familiar to me. I'm not a detail person, and my inability to work methodically shows. I clean my offices in flurries of activity and almost always uncover some important detail that was due to be completed yesterday. Every other important activity, like marketing and sales, suffers as a result. There's little good to be said about clutter and yet, somehow, we too often…
