Samoa: A paradise you really have to want to visit
At the Upolu to Savai'i ferry terminal an older man reclines on a bench below a café serving hatch, the Samoan equivalent of a greasy spoon. He catches my eye, raises half a coconut, smiles and beckons to me. I'm in no hurry, Samoa isn't a place to be in haste, and I wander over to see what he wants…

Never underestimate the power of video and email
by John Frenaye Monday January 11, 2016
Last week I discussed the importance of the experience to today’s traveler. Later in the week, Nolan Burris talked about the “wow” experience he recently had in South Africa. Are you sensing a theme here? In Nolan’s article, he included a video to visually highlight his written message—and it worked. In terms of traffic to Travel Research Online, it worked. That article, along with the views of the video was very strong. I wondered.
Last week, I was preparing to release a small weekend group trip to my clients. Typically, my email database will get a heads up prior to any publication on the website, and I decided to include a video. And…

The One Thing: A Disciplined Life
“Success is about doing the right thing, not about doing everything right. The trip to success is to choose the right habit and bring just enough discipline to establish it.”
The One Thing by Gary Keller, page 55
Chapter 6: A DISCIPLINED LIFE
The plight of today’s entrepreneur is that they feel they have to do everything; and heaven knows there is plenty to do! To complicate things, they never seem to have enough time to get it all done. Too much to do… not enough time to do it…

A Talent for Practice
by Richard Earls Sunday January 10, 2016
"I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious." ~ Albert Einstein
Talent. You have it or you don't... Right? Isn't talent the reason Bobby Fischer was a grand master chess player at 19? Isn't talent why Bill Gates was a boy genius and is now the world's richest man, or why Tiger Woods was a child golf prodigy? Is talent why some people seem to be natural born successes and others struggle up and down the steep slopes of the Pareto Principle their entire life, never breaking into the top 20% of their chosen field?
Maybe…
